I am synthesizing a silica-supported copper catalyst, after reduction, I would like to dope cerium islands. so I would like to know the stirring time required to insure complete adsorption (how to know when to stop stirring).
Thanks for Your kind explaining. I understood, that the method you are using is the adsorption of cerium ions or charged cerium colloids in the electrical double layer at the catalyst's surface. Normally, this kind of reactions proceed rather fast as nearly all ion exchange reactions do. You could proof by measuring the time dependence of cerium concentration in the liquid phase by polarography.
