I did an experiment of making functionalized graphene oxide and dried it in a vacuum oven after centrifugation, and ground f-GO using mortar and pestle.
But, after grinding, it still didn't become find particles.
I want to make nanocomposites (Polymer/GO & Polymer/f-GO) and compare their properties, so I think, it is important to get find particles of f-GO using mortar and pestle..
How long do I have to grind f-GO using agate mortar and pestle to get a good powder form?

Please increase the grinding time such as 45 min or 60 min to get fine powder, or you can also try low speed/time ball billing for this purpose.

The use of mortar and pestle, primary used for deagglomeration, is difficult to repeat consistently. If you desire a particular quantifiable results which you can analyze for purposes of process optimisation, you should use a standard milling process (HEBM) while considering aspects of grinding media, speed, solids loading, and duration of grinding. Asking how long one should use a mortar and pestle, is like asking how long a piece of string is. One should bear in mind also that mortar and pestle produces a broader particle size distribution than ball milling. You may want to consider surfactant enhanced high energy ball milling to get the finest results possible.

I think you obtained sheet form after centrifugation and vacuum drying step. It seems like small papers and mortar and pestle didn't work properly. Some amount of functionalized graphene oxide also sticks on the surface mortar and pestle outer surface.
Therefore, you should use a standard ball milling process as suggested by Dorian A H Hanaor.
