Good day scholars. I am supposed to centrifuge my tissue homogenate at 10,000 rpm for 15 minutes. But the rotor head I have can't go beyond 5,000 rpm.
How do I determine the duration of centrifuging at this speed (5,000 rpm) to get same result with 10,000 rpm for 15 minutes.

Dear friend, RPM is not used in scientific world. Always use "g" or "RCF". RCF means Relative Centrifugal Force. Read your research again someone must have mentioned "g" instead of RPM.
Each centrifuge has chart for conversion of rpm to RCF or g. Or you can calculate RCF yourself by the attachment.

To determine the relative centrifugal field (RCF), place a straightener on the graph that relates the known speed (rpm) and the known radius of rotation. The point at which the ruler intersects the RCF axis is the field. If the field and radius are known, the corresponding velocity can be determined
