I know that S.cerevisiae suspension can be kept at 4℃ for a few weeks in liquid media such as

YPD or SD media.

However, I'm unsure whether I can store yeast cells in PBS for a few days to weeks without

losing viability. It seems like animal cells cannot be stored for more than a few hours.

On the other hand, bacteria can survive in PBS for weeks to months. So, I'm uncertain.

I'm planning to store my budding yeast in PBS at 4℃ over the weekend and continue my

experiment with WGA staining for counting bud scars.
