Hello Yvette, I don't know how prepared your CTAB buffer but storing at room temperature is wrong. The proper storage temperature is 37 deg C to avoid precipitation. That should keep for like 5 years. However, it is best to prepare the buffer fresh when needed.

At room temperature, better not store CTAB for more than 2 months. I would suggest you prepare a fresh buffer.
