I need to perform a FEM simulation of a fabric membrane. I have the characteristics of the fiber and I need to evaluate stiffness properties of the fabric. I suppose that standard formula for composite materials (with 100% fiber composition and 2 orientations) cannot be used since it is necessary to evaluate the effect of weave in terms of interaction between 0 and 90 degrees fibers.
The equivalent properties of laminate need to calculated for the orthotropic material. Many freely available codes are available on internet by which u can calculate the resulting laminate properties.
