I am Saifullah Rahimi, I have done my master's degree in Computer Applications and am so keen to start my PhD(Deep learning domain) but i haven't any experience or idea, and time is also limited if anyone can help please let me know.
It is good to have cross checked the European Universities PhD Research Proposals that you will get more ideas on your subject background of the Computer Science.
The main important things are to be considered are as follows:
1. Selection of the suitable Title
2. Identify the Problem for which you are going to find out the solution.
3. Framing the General and Specific Objectives
4.Review the related Literatures pertaining to the Title
5.Draw a Conceptual Framework or Analytical Framework according to your Title.
6. Develop Methodology
7. Select Dependent Variables and Independent Variables.
8. Model Specifications
9. Data collection, Data Processing, Write up etc.
10. Thesis editing, citation corrections, language and grammar check,
The Computer Science field has wider areas to select the Titles on IoT, Meta data, Algorithms, Web Designing and Portal etc.
While preparing you research proposal you should clearly present your idea and expected results. You should show the importance of your research and what value it will bring to your discipline. Specifically, you should clearly indicate the title of your proposed research, state the name of your supervisor including the name of department and faculty. Moreover, you should answer the following questions in your proposal:
- What are you trying to achieve with your research?
- What is the purpose?
- Summary of what your research is about. It outlines the key aspects of what you will investigate as well as the expected outcomes.
- Providing context around your research topic through a literature review will show the assessor that you understand current dialogue around your research, and what is published.
- A good way to evaluate if you have written a strong synopsis, is to get somebody to read it without reading the rest of your research proposal. Would they know what your research is about?.
- Draw links between your research and the faculty you are applying at, and explain why you have chosen your supervisor, and what research have they or their school done to reinforce and support your own work.
- Provide an overview of the methodology and techniques you will use to conduct your research.
- Work plan: Consider the milestones you aim to achieve at each stage of your research.
- Provide details of the resources you will need to carry out your research project. Consider equipment, fieldwork expenses, travel and a proposed budget, to indicate how realistic your research proposal is in terms of financial requirements and whether any adjustments are needed. Saifullah Rahimi
The overarching purpose of a research proposal is to describe the trajectory of a study to a selection/search committee. To wit, one should clearly describe why an issue, problem, or question is of interest. Specifically, why is it important, why does one think it has not been addressed sufficiently beforehand, why should others be interested in it, and how might one go about investigating it to come up with findings and recommendations that will further our understanding of it? In evaluating a research proposal, a selection/search committee will look for how well a student has conceptualized the matter and explained its implications; the committee will also consider the appropriateness, rigor, and creativity associated with how a student plans to go about finding answers or solutions.
