RCC retaining wall of height 5-6 m require multiple casting stages with a construction joint between two stage of casting. The age of concrete between two stage casting is different but they share the same vertical reinforcement. No interface material is provided for bonding between old concrete and new concrete.
In ANSYS APDL, for modelling the construction joint interface between old concrete and new concrete which material element should be used, i.e., CONTA174 & TARGE170 or INTER205 or something else; please suggest.
First you have to model the strength development of concrete with time for each pour, since it will be cast at different time. You need to perform a shear test for concretes cast at different ages (different compression and tensile strength) with the protruding reinforcement so that you can derive the stiffness coefficient in the horizontal and vertical direction of the interface zone.
