I want to use this program to display the tip pi-pi interactions, but even if I follow the installation manual that brings the software does not run. If someone already installed and it worked, please can you tell me step by step how to set it up. Thank you.
I follow the tutorial on this website http://gatsby.ucmerced.edu/wiki/Nciplot but are not referred or create the environment variable, how it is created and how the program is installed nciplot.
I use the Gaussian 09 program in Linux.
Looking at the manual and the link you provided:
- find out which fortran compiler if any you have on your system. For example, issue the command "gfortran -v" - which should tell you if gfortran is installed and what version you have.
- Modify the Makefile (you will NEED to do that) to reflect that. For example, if you have gfortran as your compiler, your Makefile.inc should have a line somewhere saying: FC = gfortran. If your compiler is "ifort", then the line should be modified to be: FC=ifort Here you may have guessed FC stands for "Fortran Compiler", and it is an environment variable set up by your makefile.
- Also it uses VMD, make sure you have it installed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_Molecular_Dynamics)
Do not know how to install programs on linux.
so I keep the instrcciones manual when installing nciplot, but not modify the Makefile.inc
so I ask for help if someone already installed loa SIGIO and steps for installation.
