I need to find the same osmotic effect (pressure) on a plant or seed exerted by two solutions one contained Nacl and other PEG 6000 ! how can i find the equivalence between NaCl and PEG 6000 (pression by Pascal or Bar or atm)?
i used to calculate osmotic pressure of NaCl the formul of Van't Hoff and for PEG 6000 the formul of Michel and Kauffman but i can't find an equivalance (or even an approximaty value)

I readed the 2 papers and it was really interesting,
But i still have the problem how to calculate and find an equivalent water potential between NaCl and PEG 6000 !
I know that the formula of Mickel and Kauffman it's for calculate Water potential of PEG 6000 , and the formula of Van't hoff for calculate a osmotic pressure used for ionic solution or not (i used for Nacl);
but my question is how can i calculate the water potential of NaCl solution as mentioned in one of those papers !!!!!
....... A lower germination percentage was obtained from PEG compared with NaCl at an equivalent water potential in each treatment.

You can't calculate the osmotic pressure of NaCl solutions exactly using Van't Hoff's equation as the solution is not behaving ideally (e.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28915761) above concentrations of c. 0.1 M. So it's better to look it up in a physical/chemical table based on measurements (at different temperatures).
