Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has given a task to Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) to develop a thermostable FMD Vaccine within a year. Can anyone develop a vaccine in a year ready for field use? Will it be possible to do all required field trials within a year requisite for the vaccine? Will it not be waste in haste? What kind of the vaccine may be it? Live or Inactivated? How much effective it may be? Better than the present inactivated oil adjuvant vaccine or inferior? Will it be stable at 20C, 30C, 40C or more to suit Indian summers? There are so many if and buts, the biggest one is: will the vaccine quality will be good enough to protect from the disease? https://www.researchgate.net/publication/311773410_How_and_why_to_control_FMD_Why_are_we_failing?_iepl%5BviewId%5D=YuTO0GFi7qFPGZcbopT47QEx&_iepl%5BprofilePublicationItemVariant%5D=default&_iepl%5Bcontexts%5D%5B0%5D=prfpi&_iepl%5BtargetEntityId%5D=PB%3A311773410&_iepl%5BinteractionType%5D=publicationTitle
