But, my query is when the viruses are outside their hosts.... how they maintain their nucleic acids...undegrdaded? any mechanism or factors that assist them..?
Actually the nucleic acid of any virus remains inert within the capsid (and in certain instances envelop) coat until and unless it finds a suitable host system to replicate.

Ya I do want to know...what is that feature that keep nucleic acid protected within the capsid? else, as far my knowledge, nucleic acid can't be preserved that way in nature, unharmed, non-degraded.... hw is that possible for viruses to maintain?
Hi Anjan firstly i would like to clarify that protection of viral nucleic acid is the end result of many factors include physical, chemical, biological, structural and even environmental factors. As viruses can not seen by eyes we are unable to feel their effect till produce its action in their susceptible host. the final structure of a model virus is produced through chemical and physical forces finally gives structural stability like pyramids and a piece of wood. presence of adverse environmental factors may affect this structural stability even nucleic acids based on type of viruses and other factor mentioned before. so viruses is still a mystery till now but surely dry seeds maintain their genetic material till planted as virus maintained their nucleic acid till replication.
