I have 2 questions
1. I am trying to get monolayer of Ag Nanoparticles on glass slide using APTES. My request to all to kindly share if there is any standard reproducible protocol to get monolayer.
2. How can I confirm this monolayer formation. How the monolayers of Ag nanoparticles look/appear in SEM charecterisation? Are there any literature on these. Are there any other ways to confirm monolayer.

Hello Seemesh Bhaskar, there is no straight forward way to answer the 2° question. Every synthesis method will yield different particle shapes and sizes.
There are types of images in SEM analysis, like BSE (BackScattered electrons) and SE (scattered electrons). SE images provide information about the atomic number and charge. Since Ag NP is conducive with high atomic mass, you can differentiate by this characteristic, it will appear brighter. I encourage you to perform an EDS analysis of the sample to see the elements.
By monolayer, do you mean atomic monolayer? Or NP monolayer? I suggest to do a cross-cut in the sample and prepare for HRTEM/TEM analysis.

I am trying to get monolayer of Ag Nanoparticles (not atomic monolayer). Basically I am preparing Ag NPs by conventional Turkevich method and then using APTES as a binder to make monolayer on glass slide. So, it's not atomic monolayer, but Nanoparticles monolayer.
