I am doing work in bioactive compound extraction from Ulva sp so I need dried seaweed. For that, I have to collect wild seaweed so my question is how much quantity of wet seaweed is required in order to get 2kg of dried seaweed
Species of Ulva are very soft composed with loosely arranged parenchymatous tissue. So, I think more than 6kgs wet material required for 2kgs dried material. If the species is very delicate it requires more than this.
It will require 6-7kgs and it also depends on plants weight. If seaweed is light weight plant then it requires more than 7 kgs and if it has some weight then 5-6 kgs may be enough.
