Recovery of muscle, would you describe this as what?
Adaptation to training how you describe that?
If adaptation is super-compensation and recovery rather restoration of the intital status of the muscle, it can be further explored I assume. Are you looking for metabolic or mechanic recovery?
Okay. I can only think of RT that would create metabolites and these metabolites are biomarkers of inflammation of the muscle cell. The inflammation is important for recovery, but certainly for adaptation. So if you would take anti-oxidants they can counter ROS production in the muscle cell. So the muscle is faster recovered, for instance in relation to competition and performance.
However the muscle cell will not adapt because the ROS that can inflict certain pathways are blocked by the anti-oxidants. So the muscle cell will not adapt to the ROS production.
Not sure if this helps, but this a debate that is going on between if inflammation is needed, and if it should be countered or not and which kinds would be relevant.
