What is the procedure for sample analysis in ICP-MS. Is the protocol different from AAS. Moreover, does Au needs special procedure for digestion for getting analysed in ICP-MS.
After the plant samples collected, washed with water; after natural drying, drying at 80 ℃ 5h; crushed to 80 mesh for test. Soil samples: Soil samples collected from plants area, geochemical samples were processed according to 200 mesh, 105 ℃ drying 2h for testing.
Weigh plant sample into a quartz beaker 10.00g , placed in a muffle furnace, and from a low temperature was raised to 350 ℃ incubated 30min, and then raised to 650 ℃ heat to the sample is completely ashed. After cooling to room temperature, was added 10mL (1 + 1) in aqua regia, placed on a hot plate heated 30min, evaporated to a small volume of the low temperature, by adding 5mL 0.5mol. L-1 nitric acid was warmed 5min, remove cooling, 0.5mol/L nitric acid into 25mL volumetric flask, the volume, measured on the machine after the solution is clear. Soil samples: Weigh 10.00g sample determination of gold in accordance with the method
@Hong Yu: Thanks. This is the same way we do for AAS analysis. However, the Au recovery percentage in soil samples using AAS are very erratic. I really wonder if the problem subsides using ICP-MS.
