One way of identifying the pre-mining flora from the Kolar gold field exists in historical photos from the very early days of systematic mining.

Please find attached some examples of original recordings of the Kolar gold field taken around the 1900's.

Because of your experience, you may be able to identify some of the trees and shrubs.
