RISAT-1 is an indian SAR satellite launched by ISRO. Data acquires in FRS-2 mode is Quad-pol (HH, HV, VV, VH) and CEOS, level 1 format SLC file. NO software support this mode. I need to calibrate and from a 2x2 scattering matrix.
I think first of all you should take a look at the calibration of ERS 1/2 and Envisat I think the flowchart of the processing should be same, however using other parameters, I do not know which software you are using, but I think try GAMMA Remote sensing.
Did you try Polsarpro from ESA? Try to open it as generic format and calibrate them using Quegan or Papathanassious algorithm. I did it for generic P band airborne data but I only generated de S2 matrix, but the calibration process did not work. Unfortunately.

Contact your fellow scientists at IIRS for SAC-IIT-Bombay developed 'TARANG' software. This software is developed for RISAT-1 data processing.

The FRS-2 mode of RISAT-1 is not polarimetric (no phase coherence).. So you cannot generate a Scattering matrix from those datasets..
Calibration can be done using the calibration factors given with the data manually, or can be done automatically using "TARANG" ...

Can anyone explain how we can extract sigma values from FRS1 level2 (RISAT-1 data) product.
