We have been working to stain the mucin cells of GIT using cresyl violet. The pylorus of the stomach, goblet cells of Colon took up cresyl violet stain. Will it be able to help us to differentiate acidic and neutral mucins? How to standardise the procedure?

Thank you Morea. We wanted to try out how benefitial would cresyl violet be for mucin secreting cells. studies have documented that cresyl violet picks up Helicobacter Pylori in gastric mucosa and can help to demonstrate mucin secreting cells . However , as we are experimenting its use, we are stuck up at the steps of standardising the modified heidenhain azan stain using cresyl voilet instead of alcian blue.
