In particular, when you are giving written instructions, do you refer to yourself in the first person, or the third. For example:
"Be sure to watch my video and reply in the forum section by Thursday."
or
"Be sure to watch the teacher's video and reply in the forum section by Thursday."
In the case of the class I am preparing, I already know most of the students from past in-person classes. It will be a group of maybe 15 students, meeting only online.

First person is approachable. If you watch the higher ranking courses it is more common there. It is especially important online as you need all that is available to capture the intimacy lost in face to face communications. Using their person cause people to detach and online there is no social boundaries to bring them back. If they show you and the video it is quite obvious you are the teacher. That being said it is important to say who you are and why you are the best person to teach that class including qualifications
Dear Michael, considering the fact that it is a small group of students that you already know and because the online environment may be less formal than, for instance, written communication, it will probably be acceptable to use "my video". On the other hand, if the information will be re-used in future by another staff member, it may be advisable to use "the teacher's video'.
I sometimes refer to 'your lecturer', but this depends on the situation.

I would be more specific: "Be sure to watch the course video "MEDIA1" and to reply in the forum section by Thursday."
For classes that I teach, I speak in first-person. I also coordinate a larger course that has multiple sections taught by other instructors, when I make videos for all sections I will say things like "ask your instructor" because their instructor may not be me.
