Then I or other researchers used that samples in the lab and it was possible to amplify them for DNA Barcoding, sequencing of other genes or genotyping.
Yes, you can use EtOH 96% and if your organisms are benthic invertebrates you can also add 5% of glycerin of the EtOH volume used that better preserves the organisms.
