Aristotle was perhaps the first scientist, yet his writings traverse a gamut ranging from literature (literary theory and criticism) to politics and physics. What we now know as "science" was at some time in the recent past referred to as "natural philosophy." In our contemporary world, "science" is sometimes used interchangeably with "technology."
