When synthesizing silver nanoparticles from silver nitrate using different reducing agents, how do you confirm the reaction is complete and there are no more unreacted silver ions?
I am assuming you were talking about creighton synthesis. In that case, I would check for the yellowish tinge of AgNPs. You might ask if that will give an accurate answer. Well, No! Based on my experience, after you are done with addition of silver nitrate, let the colloid stir for another 30-45 min on ice to ensure the complete reaction. c\Besides, Checking LSPR peak by Uv-VIS will definitely tell you but its better to wait for a day before performing measurements. I agree that titrating with chloride will give you but I doubt if thats best option in terms of convenience if you are doing this in bulk on regular basis.
