My reactant is only 1 mol% of the total flow rate, so I was wondering if you account for only the reactant flow rate when calculating for the theoretical calculation?
I am following the supplementary information for "Stable and Selective Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide to
Ethylene on Copper Mesocrystals" as a reference to calculate the faradaic efficiency.

The Faraday efficiency n of a gaseous product j is determined by means of
n = z*F*xj*Fm / I
where F is Faraday’s constant, z is the number of electrons exchanged, xj is the mole fraction of the gas j in the gaseous mixture analyzed, Fm is the molar flow rate, and I the total current.

Thank you for your response. Does this mean that I should use the molar flow rate of my reactant or the total molar flow rate?
What do you mean by the total flow rate? Is it the flow rate of feeded CO2 to the chamber or is it the flow rate that we feed the sample to the GC?
