How do we make a machine knit Hemp/linen yarn without needle breakages and other issues?

We are trying to make a Jersey fabric of 180 GSM using 30RL Linen/Hemp Yarn. But we face difficulties in knitting them, as we encounter needle breaks. Does this have to do with using yarn which must go through some special process? Or use a particular type of machine?
