I'm designing an extended Kalman filter observer in a control system. In the control system, there is an MPC controller.
Do states, inputs, and outputs used in observer have to be the same as states, inputs, and outputs used in controller in the same control system?
And, should I choose the inputs from variables that I can control only? Or can I choose any variables from state equations that is not a state to be the input?
