I have two mesh surfaces and want to project the nodes of one of the mesh surfaces(quad elements) unto that of the second (tri elements) to create a (hexa) volume mesh. Are there any software that can do this easily? I tried Hypermesh but it could not compute it and ended up altering the meshing on the underlying surface. Does anybody have any idea how to go about it? Authors who have used this method in their papers only used the phrase "to generate a 3d mesh from the quad surface mesh, a custom code was used that projected the mesh nodes to the nearest point on the underlying bone (surface 2))". I have attached a picture to dive a pictorial view
