I want to have an idea of the amount of mucin that is present before and after my experiments with a certain bacteria. Normally I do it with a fluorometric method, but there are a lot of other compounds present in my medium which also gives a signal when using this method. I tried to filter them out, but it doesn't seem to work. 

So does anyone have an idea?
