My co-workers and I have presented a small paper on the 36th BLED conference. The paper is published in the conference proceedings (https://dk.um.si/IzpisGradiva.php?id=84589) and the conference proceedings have a collective doi: 10.18690/um.fov.4.2023 (it has not been registered yet, at doi, so the link goes nowhere). Our paper is "The anatomy of a personal service"
I would like to put that paper in my research gate with the 'correct' identification. But ResearchGate tells me: the doi has been associated with another paper already. And that is correct. That paper "Malicious Insider Threat Types - An Empirical Analysis" also appears in that same volume, so that association should be there.
What is the correct procedure for using a collective doi, so we can all identify our papers?

There is no way to use "a collective doi". DOIs are intended to be unique identifiers, so two or more digital objects (publication files in this case) cannot have the same DOI. The only way to add your publication to ResearchGate is to simply leave the DOI field empty. Anyway your paper does not have a DOI (only the proceedings have one), and the other author has wrongly assigned the proceeding's DOI to his paper.
