So here is my challenge, being new in the field of PSC development, one of the things I am having trouble doing, (rather a challenge) is getting the (UV-vis) absorption spectrum of the perovskite I have synthesized. I know using the liquid/solution sample isn't one of the best ways, the alternative is using the thin film coated on the glass. I have tried following one of the approaches as shown in this YouTube video

Any suggestions or alternative on how to go about doing this on thin films or how do you guys go about it.

In the video there is an alternative way when you don't have a proper sample holder. The geometry of analysis is the same: You have a solid film deposited on glass, then the equipment will shine light on it, and some of the light will pass through it, like any other sample. So, what exactly you are not getting right? If you do the experiment like the video did, I think it would work. I am showing you a sample holder for glass.

Ricardo Tadeu Maia Thanks for the suggestion, just looking at your sample holder and what was done in the video, I believe the positioning of my sample must have been off. I will revisit this and try and find a work around on this then get back to you.

You have to make sure that the glass is in the right position, but that is not the biggest problem I suppose you can get. What about your film uniformity, color, etc? Also, what is the actual problem? Didn't the sample absorb?
