I am doing a transient analysis using 21 load step files, but when I try to solve the LS files I get an error saying " The ANTYPE,, REST command is unsuccessful ". Then only two files are solved. Can some please help I need to solve all 21 LS files at a time in order to do a fatigue analysis.

If you are intending to do a restart from one load step to the next one (because you need to change to preprocessor or postprocessor), make sure you have correctly defined the restart parameters so all the needed files are written (.ldhi, etc.).
If you do not need to do the restarts (avoid it if possible), then make sure you did not activate it by mistake (there should be no trace of the RESCONTROL command, and no REST option in the ANTYPE command). Search for .ldhi files in your working folder and delete them (or change to an empty working folder).
If this still does not work, try forcing the "no restart" by adding RESCONTROL,NORESTART,NONE to each of the SOLVEs. This could give you a shortcut to understand your problem and make it possible to continue, but if this DOES work, then verify your solution carefully! As this may just hide any other error you may have. This is not a normal behaviour and there is something wrong with the model.

I tried deleting the .ldhi files and i'm still having the same problem. Do you know a way I could fix it using the GUI instead of the RESCONTROL,NORESTART,NONE command ?
The rescontrol can be accessed from the GUI in LoadStepOpts -> NonLinear -> Restart Control.
Check all the values there.
even if i add rescontrol,norestart,none, even then i gives warning ldhi file not written but also solve for that load step. is this bcoz multiframe restart is default option?
since im not using restart or no trace of antype,, rest in my command file, i do not get why there is this warning
If you are not using restart, this should not happen. Nevertheless it may appear because of other features being activated unnoticed and it may be a hint that there is something wrong with the model.
Try simplifying the model and solving it, until you find what causes that warning.
Also, and as a first thing to do, launch it using an empty (clean) working folder.
I have tried everything that comes to me,, I'm using student version 18.2,, can it be software limitation?
No. Student version only limits the size of the model, and the error you would get in case you go beyond the limits is completely different.
I also met this problem. If I deleted the "Large-deflection" command "NLGEOM, ON", the warning was disappeared. I don't know what's the reason? Who can explain this? Many thanks.
