However, you must be very careful - do not mix censored and complete observations.

If graphs do not comtain individual data points, they are useless.

Another way is to try to contact the authors. I do have some luck with that.

Kaplan-Meier curves typically have the proportion "surviving" on the vertical (Y) axis and the age or time in years on the horizontal (X) axis.  You can determine median survival by drawing a horizontal line from the .5  or 50% point on the x-axis, and where it intersects the K-M curve, draw a line down to the x-axis which will give you the median survival in years (or months or age ).    Similarly, you can determine the 3-year survival, 5-year survival, etc. by drawing a line up from the x-axis at the 3 or 5 year points on the x-axis and then horizontally from where it intersects the K-M curve to give you the proportion who survive to the 3-year and 5-year point on the y-axis, for example.  Many cancer statistics report 3-year or 5-year survival; you will have to see what is common for your disease.   

And if your K-M curves have more than one group on the same graph, it may also have confidence intervals around each line.  Where those confidence intervals no longer overlap is where the difference in survival between the two groups is statistically significant. You can then determine the time point at which this occurs with the method above, and for example then say that "the two groups had statistically different survival outcomes after 52 months, p < .05"  or something similar.    Of course, there is also the p-value from the log-rank test which is typically used in Kaplan-Meier analysis.
