Can I ask direct questions such as :
" I can be a friend with this speaker" Likert scale from one to five or I prefer from 1 to three.
instead of providing personal traits to evaluate ? again using Likert scale of 5 points .

I'm not sure whether the matched guise techniques is appropriate to measure personality traits, usually it assesses attitudes (e.g. towards groups of people). However, it may be a challenge to apply the technique to measure personality traits.
