Many researchers were coupling Taguchi's technique with Response surface methodology using Minitab 16 and Design Expert Software (stat-ease). I tried a lot but i couldn't obtain the response surface plot for the output response. Instead i get 3D blocks as response surface instead of a surface curve, from which we can understand the behavior of the input parameters over the output response. Kindly suggest me the possible solution. Thanking you all in advance
The experiments is to be conducted based on Taguchi's experimental design. Use response surface regression option for "Response surface method".

I used this two techniques (Taguchi and RSM), it is very easy to combine Taguchi technique with RSM (response surface methodology), you have to calculate the S/N ratio (signal/noise) of your response (output) by Taguchi method (using Minitab), then you can use the general regression analysis (in Minitab) but in this time you have to analyse the S/N ratio of you response (calculated by Taguchi technique), this is the methode to combined Taguchi and RSM methodes.
Both Minitab and DX assume the factors in a Taguchi design are all categorical. You need to go in and tell DX that some of your factors are numerical by editing the columns. It's a left mouse click when you highlight the gray boxes above each column.

Taguchi is highly fractional. It depends on whether you have higher order columns or not in the design. You have to ensure at the time of design of experiments for RSM analysis. All arrays may not be correct to analyse using RSM. Especially when it is not designed for RSM.
