How do i choose the excitation wavelength for studying the photo catalytic property of a material?May i use tungsten filament bulb for irradiating ?

For instance i have a material whose band gap is around 2 eV and i want to study its photocatalytic property by studying dye degradation .may i use filament bulb for irradiation or do i use specific wavelength light source.please help
