Hello. RIght now, I am doing a project about weld spots in different materials. We are doing tensile tests on welden test subjects and are filming the results with a thermal imaging camera.
We would like to be able to calculate these subjects in FEM/Ansys so we can compare our testresults with something. Is there any easy way I can add welds/welds spots into ansys so I can get accurate calculations?

You can do one thing i.e. first you have to model a UTM specimen with weld position then you have to analyze that welds specimen by transient elasto-plastic thermo-mechanical analysis. Due to this, there will develop residual stresses / strains /displacement. Then use this as initial conditions by 'pstress' command and do the tensile test analysis. This is one way.
Another way, in UTM specimen first you have to put the residual stresses as initial stress in the weling region then you have to do the tensile test analysis.
FEM modeling of spot welds is rather complex. A good example of this is given in

Moreover, beyond the elastic limit different plastic behaviour in base material, Fusion and Heat Affected Zones should be taken into account.
