there are several methods for the preparation of such levels,the easy one is to use the following relation ship:640mg per liter of either Na Cl or CaCl2= 1ds/m. you could also use the molar concentration of either salt to make your calculation, remembering that 10mM of NaCL or CaCl2 =1ds/m.
Yes, the method proposed by Abbas is very easy. Try to homogenise the water after dissolution of salts and test EC. However, subtract the EC of original water from the EC to be developed for calculation of the quantity of salts to be added.
For research purposes, a mix 2/1 for CaCl2/NaCl may be used. Now, due to the common ion effect, the direct relationship between EC and molar concentration no longer applied. So, you have to use trial and error. When preparing the mix, remember to correct for the ions already present in the original water

Hello everybody, now I have to do this experiment. Reading all your comments I understand 1dS/m=10mM salt= 640mg/l salt, but can I extrapolate this equality for all type of salt (NaCl, CaCl2, KCl, MgCl...)? Where can I find the equivalence? For the moment I must to work with this salt solution (75%NaCl, 25%CaCl2) at 2 and 4 dS/m, I understand prepar a mix solution at final concentration of 20 or 40mM with those proportion, is correct?
