Basically i want to apply boundary conditions to a specific node, abaqus is only allowing me to apply the boundary condition to the whole edge.
Whats the procedure for applying it to specific nodes?

hi hope it is possible to apply boundary conditions to a specific nodal point..ex. if you want to apply point load at he specific nodal point, identify the three nodal coordinates to locate the node in case of 3-d problem and then apply point load tool available in the software..try ..
If you are using CAE only, the best way is probably to simply sketch your component so that it has a point at the position you want to load (for example, by drawing a line in two steps in the sketcher model).
Alternatively, you can define a node set for the node in question, but this will not work when you change the mesh.
