Hi Sundar. You need to work on two equally important parallel directions: ecology and climatology.
Ecological questions: How are the relationships between a species and its thermal environment? Are they direct? Are the relationships mediated by other organisms?
Climatological questions: How will be the thermal habitat response to the climate change?
All of these need to be carefully quantified because uncertainty must be limited much as possible to the climate scenarios.
