I have cultured hella cells and the cell mortality and viability have been checked under treatment with special drug. So, I have seen that the cell mortality and viability decreased together and I want to have a conclusion about the effect of my drug on hella cells. can you help me?

What is your assay? In some assays it is eithor or, so either you have viable cells or they are dying, like in an annexin v/ 7AAD staining protocol. Or do you mean proliferation? This could eg be a cell cycle related effect. If your drug arrests the cell cycle you will get less proliferation and it may also very well stop the cells from dying...

Do some sort of a microscopy. Is the cell undergoing aggregation? You need a another technique to validate your cell survival/cell mortality business. Don't just rely on one technique.
Hello Farid. Interesting results by the way. I worked with hela cells previously, and they usually just grow indefinitely and healthily. So to me, hela are the easiest to maintain in culture, and didnt die on my watch. Now from your study, you say your hela cells are dying due to the drug? How is your control hela, are they dying too or are they growing happily? I'd like to make sure your hela isnt really dying due to contamination or lack of nutrients in the first place. But if you think that your control is okay, then the drug of your experiment may target the cell cycle, and causes cell arrest as mentioned by Thomas. I assume that you are doing cancer drug research, and if its true, your drug of choice will be able to kill cancer cells. Then I'd suggest you perform the same drug experiment on healthy non-disease origin cells to see the difference of outcomes. All the best!

My method was Trypan Blue staining, Yes, I mean the proliferation of my cells decreases during two and three days after the encounter to my drug.

Very thanks for your kindly reply, I want to say that I am sure that my hella cells aren't contaminated and the control tests established properly. Yes, my research area is cancer treatment and I have seen the effects of my drug (or in other words my blocker agent) on the human fibroblast cells similarly (but a little more stronger). Therefore, according to the comments of dear researchers of this page, I think that my drug may has similar effect of triggering cancer and normal cells to stay on G0 phase of cell cycle. Do you think so?
I guess you use trypan blue for mortality and PI/annxin V for viability, then i agree with Thomas, it looks quite likely that your drug arrest cells in some phase, just like most anti-tumour drugs would do. To vaildate this guess, some simple work you can try: CFSE for cell proliferation; PI/Edu for cell cycle, then you know exactly whether your drug suppress cell proliferation, and which phase it arrest cell cycle.
