I have prepared graphene oxide and reduced it by bio-extract. Now I just want to know whether it has been reduced or not! How much extent it has been reduced. Please help me by indicating the name of the tests by which we can conclude the reduction extent of the graphene oxide materials. I need immediate help from your side. Please help me to proceed.
You may use FTIR, ATIR, EDX, XPS, UV-vis, XRF, XRD, Raman, SEM, TEM techniques to confirm the reduction of GOs to graphene. By analyzing FTIR or Raman spectra you may get the quantitative information of the reduction.
You can use Raman in order to see the D band Intensity, it is shorter in graphene oxide if you compare it with reduced graphene. You can confirm with FTIR to see the reduction of functional groups.
XRD, UV-visible, FTIR and Raman patterns can clealy indicate the reduction extent of GO. You can get help from this paper.

A first approach could be the color change from graphene oxide (GO) to reduced graphene oxide (rGO), GO powder has a like-brown color instead rGO has black one. Also GO has hydrophilic character and rGO has an hydrophobic one. That two aspects could give you cualitative answer. Then you can characterizate your materials by FTIR and Raman spectrocopy in order to have an analitical support about the reduction of your GO.
