CC of engine means it's capacity in more detail it is stroke volume or displaced volume. If CC of any vehicle is more then it will take more fresh charge during suction stroke .Fresh charge is combination of fuel and air mixture in SI engine, so for same air fuel ratio engine more CC engine will suck more fresh charge means more fuel which will effect the mileage of engine and automobile system . Higher compression ratios will however make gasoline engines subject to engine knocking if lower octane-rated fuel is used, also known as detonation. This can reduce efficiency or damage the engine if knock sensors are not present to modify the ignition timing.
I want to know how to increase or decrease CC. I am well versed with CC and SI engines. I am asking about manually changing the Compression ratio (as we do in our labs), so will it change the CC. If no, then how can I change it.
