I want to apply the loads in a masonry wall to check for the load-deflection curve.
You can apply the loads using a simple *DO loop and then using the command F to apply the force at the nodes (if you have to apply an horizontal force).
You can use the commands *VFILL, *VFUN and *VOPER to create the arrays containing the data. If it is just a sinusoidal force, you can do easily with these 3 commands.
In case that you applied a small load relative to the ultimate capacity, an option called restart to continue from the last step
sometimes need to do it in this way for convergence and to increase number of steps at high load
Dear sir, I am performing the non-linear pushover and cyclic analysis of a masonry wall, presently i am applying a load by making a function on time dependent and applied through transient analysis.
Is this correct method??
I am using Contact 173 and target 170 elements for brick-mortar interface, so there are lots of convergence issues.
