Yes, Mohamed Hassan, First you need to perform modal analysis and then link the modal analysis module to transient module in order to input the record acceleration and run the time history analysis in Ansys Workbench. I hope this will help you.
Asad Naeem, the acceleration obtain from different earthquake data provided me the acceleration vs time, velocity vs time and displacement vs time graphs. If I put the acceleration of ground directly on the whole structure(all bodies), is it still valid that the earthquake effects are transferred from the ground to the structure? I did the same thing and I am very confused about the results because the accelerations are at base, not the whole structure.(all bodies)
Asad Naeem I am also having a similar problem in ANSYS workbench, I want to apply just base acceleration but I could not set the boundary conditions when I don't link modal analysis solution to the transient analysis. Are there any ways to apply only base acceleration for performing nonlinear time history analyses?
