I am working on probabilistic analysis of the phenomenon of progressive failure. I want to examine the damage to the structure under several events. Hence, I have to model the damage under any event. How can consider different damage scenarios in probability in different bays, floors for different beams or column and connections.
Since the probabilistic methods are the simplest sizing methodologies, the results attained by these techniques may not be the most suitable to find out the best solution. Usually, these techniques consider one or two system performance indicators to be optimized to size the components of the studied system. The probabilistic methods of calculating the stability or strength of a structure after damage can be used as an early approaches in finite element method considering the related standards of the stability/strength that should be aimed at in the damaged state.
