In a shock-tube, air is kept at a pressure of 10 atm on the left side of the
diaphragm and 1 atm at the right side. Diaphragm is located at the center
of the shock-tube. Temperature on both side initially set to be 300 K. After
rupture of the diaphragm, the discontinuity between the two initial states
breaks into three waves (leftward and rightward moving waves separated by
a contact wave).
Write a computer program (use Mathlab,Phython ) to compute flow
property variation along the shock-tube. Plot the pressure, temperature,
density, velocity and Mach number variation over the shock tube at time
t = 0.55 103 s. One can assume linear variation of velocity over the
expansion fan. Normalize all the variables with maximum possible values
before plotting (write function for this in program itself). Take length of
shock tube as 1 m.
