Hello all,

I wondered whether the equation is right that we use in the lab for HepG2 cell counting with the Neubauer counting chamber.

We generelly use a sample volume between 40-50 µL of cells which is resuspended in the sample volume of Trypan blue (so 1:2 dilution). After counting 4 big squares, the equation Looks like this:

Cells counted  x  2 (for Dilution)  x  2500  x  total volume  =  total cell number

I think this is correct but would appreciated if you could shortly look over this equation and give me a comment please.

Thanks in advance, Stefan
