Hi, I am using zika virus strain (MR766, African strain) for my research, but a few researchers suggested that this strain has been passaged so many times and therefore, is a highly cell culture adapted than other strains. I also use a new Asian strain. In some cells (in vitro) they both show the similar infectivity, but in some other cells the MR766 strain shows higher infectivity than the Asian strain.
Now my question is, how can I test whether MR766 strain is highly tissue culture adapted or not?
Also, a recent study suggests that a low passaged African stain (new) shows higher infectious profile than a low passaged Asian strain (new).
Now my question is, whether the MR766 strain is actually more tissue culture adapted than other strains?
To me it seems like further studies are required to confirm this tissue culture adaptability of the MR766 strain. Please let me know if there is a confirmatory study that shows higher tissue culture adaptability of the MR766 strain.
Thank you in advance.
