The size of the graphite is about 1 to 3 micron with the pH of 6.16 dispersing in the water.The infrared spectroscopy shows thats there are some hydroxyl and carboxyl on the surface.And I want to disperse it in the water about 6 to 8 wt% .CMC（Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose) shows a good effect,but the viscosity gose up a lot. Is there some idea that can disperse graphite in water without changing the viscosity greatly？
Zili Zeng 1 or 2% Tween or Span. At a pinch, I’d try 1% washing up liquid.

Surfactants are the best option for obtaining a homogeneous dispersion of graphite in water. I advise you to try with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). A sonication treatment can greatly improve the dispersion of the particles.
