Why does graphite is grey?

Carbon black appears black while diamond is transparent, and graphite is grey.So are their crystalline state or micro size that determines the color they present ？ as I know that some Some nanoscale graphite still appear grey and I hope someone can explain it for, thanks for your reading.

These materials possess different crystalline structures and electronic band structures (band gaps). Therefore diamond is an insulator, and graphite is a conductor. Nevertheless, they both consist of carbon atoms. For example, corundum, sapphire and ruby have chemical formula Al2O3 but shine in different colours.
